Parents Need a Follow-Up Number, Not Another Promise
A parent-facing post asking Alberta to show what happens after vaping concerns are reported.
The parent question
Parents can report concerns, ask schools for help, and talk to teens. What they rarely see is the follow-up number: how many reports were made, where products came from, and what action followed.
What families should ask for
- A simple reporting path.
- A source category for each youth-access concern.
- A quarterly public summary.
- Clear separation between school discipline and seller enforcement.
Why the source matters
Health Canada lists peer pressure as a youth-vaping factor and provides prevention guidance through Consider the Consequences of Vaping. That means parent policy should look beyond the product and ask how it reached the student.
